Deaerators in steam generation systems in most thermal power plants use low pressure steam obtained from the extraction point in the steam turbine system. However, steam generators in many large industrial facilities such as oil refineries may use whatever low pressure steam is available.
The Spray Deaerator type consists of horizontal or vertical cylindrical vessels that function as part of the deaeration and boiler feed water storage tank.
A typical spray-type deaerator is a horizontal vessel which has a preheating section and a deaeration section. The two parts are separated by a divider. Low pressure steam enters the ship through the sparger at the bottom of the ship.
Deaerator is also used to remove dissolved gases from products such as food, personal care products, cosmetic products, chemicals, and medicines to increase the accuracy of doses in the filling process, to increase the stability of the product shelf, to prevent oxidative effects (eg color changes, changes odor or taste, rancid), to change the pH, and to reduce the volume of packaging.
